Who we are
We show up. We finish.
We stand behind the work.
Ironwood has been in Columbia since 2011. Small on purpose. Every project has a licensed GC on site daily.
Our story
Marcus Whitfield founded Ironwood in 2011 after 12 years as a superintendent on commercial projects in Kansas City. He came back to Columbia because his family was here — and because the residential market needed a contractor who treated homeowners the way commercial clients were treated.
Clear scopes. Realistic timelines. No disappearing acts.
Ironwood has stayed small on purpose. We don't take on more projects than we can run well. Every project has Marcus or a lead foreman on site daily — not just stopping by.
The team

How we work
What we stand behind.
Honest scopes.
Before we quote, we walk the project. We tell you what we see — including things that could cost more than you expected. No bait-and-switch on the final invoice.
Real timelines.
We build your schedule before we start. If something changes, you hear it from us first — not from a no-show on Monday morning.
No surprises.
We won't start work without a signed contract that spells out scope, materials, and price. Change orders are documented before work begins.
